Sharp TV IP/RS232 Control (Elite and Quattron series)

Step 1:  Import device in the builder called "Sharp Quattron TV IP and RS232 Control" when searching for Type=TV+Vendor=Sharp

Step 2:  Setup as NETWORK GATEWAY in iRule app with port number the same as in the settings of TV.

Step 3:  For proper IP/RS232 control you need to disable power saving feature of the TV by following steps below.
  • 1. Make sure TV is powered ON
  • 2. Go to 'Initial Setup" from the Menu Screen
  • 3. Set 'Quick Start Mode' to 'ON'
  • 4. Create a button on your handset. 
  • 5. Add one of the following commands to the button (this command only needs executed ONCE) then you can remove the button from the remote. 
  • 6. Send RSPW2 command for IP control or RSPW1 command for RS232 control (one of the commands for device) 
  • 7. Wait 5 seconds
  • 8. Then send Power On command
To test, send Power OFF then wait 10-15 seconds and then send Power ON.  TV should turn on.



Please note that Sharp TVs allow only a single connection to their TCP/IP port which means only one instance of the app can control this piece of equipment at any given time.
