Lutron Homeworks QS Thermostat Temperature Change

Don Kirby Jun 16, 2016 09:45AM EDT

I have my Homeworks QS system connected via the network, and can operate lights and shades. I have one Lutron/Honeywell thermostat on the system, which I can connect to and see the temperature and control the fan and mode. I can't change the temperature though. The up/down buttons are disabled. Is this a bug or a feature?

If the physical thermostat is in an auto mode, the up and down temperature buttons within our app will not work.

Is it possible to change this behavior? It forces the user to choose heat or cool mode when the system should be making that determination, unless I am misunderstanding the purpose of the Auto mode on the thermostat. Traditionally, the thermostat stays in auto mode, and the user simply sets the desired temperature.

Not at this time. This would require developmental effort and a new release to change this functionality. I can add the request to our developmental queue for future consideration.

Hi, I know this feed is outdated, but I had questions about the same thing. I have a homeowner who is sweating a temperature and then after sometime the see temp head units are reverting back to a different temperature. What does the auto mode do? Do you have to select heat and a temp to stay at that temperature?

Auto mode is a setting within thermostat. We are just enabling the option within our software. To confirm what auto mode does, I would contact the lighting manufacturer directly.
