Is there a way to "turn off" or "Stop" playback before exiting?

Igor Jan 29, 2017 10:59PM EST

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to execute a command/variable/etc to stop the iTunes module playback as needed?

Here is my setup:
Integra DTR 9.9 receiver
Apple Airport Express (3.5 audio to the TV input on the receiver)
Ipad mini used to control the system and control the iTunes module inside the "remote" and Pandora Pandore App is played locally on the iPad via the Airport Express back to the receiver.

1. It appears iTunes never stops the playback even when the Standby/Turn Off system-wide command is executed (I tried turning the system on and off a few times and the results were always the same...iTunes just keeps on going down the playlist).

2. As I'm essentially utilizing the Airport Express audio out to the receiver, between multiple audio sources, I need to stop one audio source before the next one can "capture" the port and starts streaming the audio.

I've tried the following:
I have attached a variable called $iTunes$ to the iTunes module Panel; then on my Pandora button I have a variable entry $iTunes$=STOP (I've tried exit, pause, and off).

Any ideas? Thanks!

P.S. It would be a nice option to enable a global setting to stop the iTunes playback when the system is turned off as well.

I think your biggest opportunity here is to replace the Airport Express with an Apple TV. If you did that, you could create a conditional statement based on the Integra feedback.

For example:
If $integrapower$ = Off
$intagraz2power$ = Off
$integraz3power$ = Off
Set Variable = 'Apple TV device code of your preference'

I setup the AND statements in the event you have any other zones that could be playing your music library.
